On June 4th the Auditor General of The Gambia, Hon. Modou Ceesay, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Turkish Ambassador (F. Turker OBA). The visit highlighted the NAO’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with international partners, including fostering collaboration with Turkey’s Supreme Audit Institution (Sayıştay) for shared learning and capacity building interventions.
AG Ceesay shared a copy of NAO’s newly launched Strategic Plan for the years 2025 – 2029 and highlighted the support by the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) including technical workshops hosted in Turkey which contributed to building NAO’s institutional and staff capacity to develop the Strategic Plan.
The Ambassador expressed appreciation for the visit and praised the NAO’s critical role in promoting public sector accountability. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and engaging in meaningful dialogue to advance transparency and good governance.
