Baba S Drammeh (Director of Audit)

Baba S Drammeh joined the National Audit Office in 2006 as an Auditor and rose through the ranks to Deputy Auditor General 2 in 2021. Mr. Drammeh holds Higher & Primary Teachers’ Certificates (HTC & PTC), Diploma in Performance Audit, Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Economics, and a Master’s Degree in Public Sector Management.

He attended series of short term (local and overseas) trainings and workshops in regularity, performance and compliance audits. He served as a facilitator for three module performance audit training in South Africa and reviewer for IFAD audit of Tanzania and also coordinates the recruitment of auditors for the public enterprises and donor funded projects in The Gambia. Mr, Drammeh is also coordinating external support to NAO, this ensures that the development supports provided are coordinated and effective as possible to avoid overlaps and gaps.

Currently he is responsible for Administration and Finance as well as heading the Performance Audit Unit. This unit examines whether interventions, programmes and institutions in The Gambia public sector are performing in accordance with the principles of economy, efficiency and effectiveness and whether there is room for improvement
